Discover Old Hall a Classic Orange Bearded Iris from our Award Winning Collection.
Building your Iris Collection
This is a really striking plant, a lustrous, sumptuous orange of genuinely classic proportions. It has an intensity that really glows. A really special iris form my father’s late concentrated period of hybridising orange irises, and one of the best.
Great as a stand alone iris in a group or plant in blocks for real impact. Mid- season flowering.
Mixing with other Colours
Old Hall combines clear clean colours, great branching and perfect flower shape to create a ‘Perfect’ Iris. Understand why these single colour irises known as ‘selfs’ mix so well with other colours groups to give you real scope to design your own distinctive colour palette.
Planting with Pinks
Remember how useful ‘Pinks’ are in this context, spanning the early/mid/ late flowering periods. Because of this they give you so many options to extend the iris season. Eileen Louise flowers early, Catherine Seville in mid-season, and both Sherwood Pinkand Century Pink are late, very late.
Height 40″ (102cm). Gently ruffled blooms that are strong orange in colour, blushed pink at the mid rib. The beards are bright orange.
