Remember that irises can still be ordered online in our shop and you can subscribe to our twice-yearly (Spring & Autumn) newsletter to be notified of future events.
May and June are typically the busiest months of the year for us, with Open Gardens, Exhibitions and Talks. We do however also deliver talks and presentations throughout the rest of the year.

Doddington Iris Day

Enjoy Bearded Irises at Doddington during Iris Week.
The English Iris Company is taking part in the Doddington iris week that runs from 31st May to 7th June 2015. Discover the new Display Bed that features a collection of Tall Bearded Irises raised by Bryan Dodsworth – the celebrated twentieth century British Iris Hybridiser.
Specialist Iris Day
One of the highlights of the week will be the Iris Day on 4th June 2015, guaranteed to appeal to novice and specialist alike.
David Logan, Doddington’s experienced and enthusiastic Head Gardener will lead tours of the Doddington Iris Garden. In addition, Simon Dodsworth, Bryan’s son, will give a talk about his father and his approach to hybridising.
There will be a talk by Barry Emmerson, Bryan’s pupil for twenty years . He will offer a master-class in iris appreciation, including a practical demonstration of hybridising techniques. This promises to be a fascinating and informative day for iris lovers and keen gardeners.
There are two sessions available on the day, but places are limited and demand is expected to be high, so early booking is essential.
